Introduction to Vocal Percussion

Music education consultant, Jane Wheeler, is Director of Living Song. Prior to setting this up, she developed the ONE VOICE choirs programme across ARK schools as well as the advanced choir, SPARK (Singing Pathways ARK). She also led on the London Sing Up partnership with igospel, British Gospel Arts and Newham Young People’s Chorus (NYPC).

During her time as music advisor for the London Borough of Newham, Jane set up and directed the borough-wide choral singing programme of four years, NYPC, with over 500 children and 36 teachers from across Newham schools. She was appointed in April 2005 after working for two years at Newham VIth form F.E College (NewVIc) and U.E.L. as part of the music team and as an Advanced Skills Teacher, working centrally for the ‘Learning and Schools’ in Newham. She continues to work at NewVIc directing and facilitating Solid Harmony Community Choir which has been running for 10 years.
