Nick Howdle
The (Big) Community Music Debate
Nick Howdle has worked for Youth Music since July 2009. As Director of Programmes, he has been involved with developing Youth Music's new funding programme and shaping its 'fit' with Arts Council England's priorities and the National Plan for Music Education.
Before Youth Music, Nick led the London music education organisation, Sound Connections, having previously worked with arts and regeneration initiatives in former mining communities in South Yorkshire and as a musician, composing, recording and teaching as part of a portfolio career.
He is also a former member of the Music Manifesto's Partnership & Advocacy Group (MMPAG), sits on the Music Education Council (MEC) Executive and the Mayor of London’s Music Education Steering Group and is a parent.
